Scoring Methods serve two purposes in the hiring system:
- It allows hiring managers to apply an Overall Score to an applicant.
- It allows hiring managers to score applicants’ responses to Custom Elements.
Creating Scoring Methods
To create a new scoring method, navigate to Library > Picklists > Scoring > + New.
Enter the scoring method name and an optional description, along with your desired scoring options and finally click Add.
An example of a scoring method is as follows:
- Excellent
- Good
- Average
- Weak
- Poor
Using Scoring Methods with Custom Elements
When creating custom elements you must also choose which scoring method to use.
Editing and Deleting Scoring Methods
Scoring methods can be edited at any time by clicking the edit pencil next to the scoring method.
If you attempt to delete a scoring option previously assigned to an applicant(s), the system will require you to choose which new score option to assign to those applicants. If any applicants were ever scored using this method, the system will require you to choose which new score to apply to the applicants.
Choosing an Overall Score
To select which scoring method will be your overall score, select the scoring method > Take Action > Make Overall Score. You can also change the overall score at any time using the same steps. If applicants have already been scored using the previous scoring method, the system will require you to choose which new score to apply to your applicants.
Overall Score
The Overall Score is an aggregate score that hiring managers can apply to an applicant’s entire application. The Overall Score is visible near the top of the applicant card and also in all default views. It is designed to clarify the overall quality of applicants, optimizing applicant process and identifying "best fit" candidates for positions. The Overall Score can be automatic and displayed as a scoring percentage (objective), or open-ended using your organization's own preferred internal qualification terminology (subjective).
